3 Key Rules For Getting Fit & Staying Lean

By Seena Khoee | August 28, 2020

Nutrition – You Can’t Out Train A Bad Diet

Nutrition is by far the most important aspect when it comes to fat burn. No matter the intensity of the workouts, they will not burn enough calories to consistently shed off fat. The key to burning fat is to consistently maintain a calorie deficit lifestyle

The good news is, there are plenty of time tested lifestyles that are proven to shed off fat without compromising your joy of delicious food. The lifestyle that I recommend considering is the Keto lifestyle. Keto combined with frequent days of fasting is one of the healthiest & fastest ways to get lean & to stay fit!

The Keto lifestyle is primarily high dietary fats, low carbs and a low protein diet. With this macronutrient ratio, your body will be in a state of ketosis which in return will optimize your body to burn deity & stored fat for fuel.

Another benefit of this lifestyle is because carbohydrate intake will stay low, you won’t need to wait several hours to deplete your glycogen stores to burn fat. Glycogen is stored carbohydrates which initially needs to be depleted before your body can tap into the stored fat and use that for fuel. On Keto, your glycogen stores remain low so you stay ready to use stored body fat as fuel!

Discipline – Take Command Of Your Life & Live It On Your Terms

Discipline is a must. We live in a culture where food is always at our disposal. Let alone grocery stores & restaurants being a convenience, now we live in a time where we have mobile apps that provide delivery services.

Not to mention, food is one of the most heavily marketed and glorified items. Half the ads shown on television feel like an ad to promote some restaurant or meal. Because of this, it’s important not to fall into the trap and glorify food. Discipline and really committing to a lifestyle is key to accomplish your fitness goals.

Pro tip: Don’t eat for pleasure, eat with a purpose.

That’s not to say don’t live in a box, there will be days or weeks where your invited to events and don’t have too much of a choice than to socialize over a delicious high carb meal.

Patience – It’s A Lifestyle, Be Patient And The Results Will Come

There’s going to be days when you’ll be extremely motivated to get out of bed and carry on with this new lifestyle then there’ll also be days when you feel like you’re not getting results fast enough, you’ll think about throwing this lifestyle away and resort to old habits. This is where patience comes into play.

Patience will play an important role when it comes to committing to this new journey & and allowing the changes to be made.

See, your body stores fat because it is a safety mechanism. In the prehistoric days, we didn’t have food at our disposal like we do right now. Back then, we would go for days without eating or even drinking which is why we have the ability to store fat.

Stored fat plays an important role in our ability to survive in times of starvation. During this time, the liver converts stored fat into fatty acids, then into ketones for our body to use as fuel.

Keep in mind 1 gram of fat is 9 calories. The process of digesting, absorbing and metabolizing fats is a lot slower than carbohydrates.

Be patient and embrace this new lifestyle. Making this lifestyle change and going through the transformation of becoming a healthier version of yourself is truly a euphoric process. The goals you have made will catch you by surprise and soon you’ll be asking yourself “What took me so long?”

WELCOME!
